Hughton worked on the staff at Spurs and was appointed by Newcastle , Norwich & Brighton and understand West Brom were moving quickly to appoint him.
He was sacked at Brighton because he spent more money than any previous manager and they looked shit and mediocre.
It’s difficult for ANY young manager to be appointed and from what I can see teams want success and will have players and managers of any colour or nationality if that brings it to them.

Still in all honesty racism does exist within the game especially regarding giving more black managers a chance.
Although Houghton getting the sack may seem to some as deserved because of bad results i believe he has done very good by Brighton but it was not anything to do with racism just a squad that has tired and lost its spark.

The apology is no good. His original criticism, backed up by some idiots on here, is as dangerous as real racism.
What that fucking idiot has intimated is the Brighton chairman has hired a black manager for 3 years, then after those 3 years has suddenly thought, "he's doing great, I'm chuffed with his work, but he's just not white enough for my liking"
This is the world we live in at present. A bloke can come out with that shit, apologise, and all is forgotten, while other people lose their jobs over a picture sent with no intended malice.

Kick It Out have now "unreservedly apologised" for linking Chris Hughton's sacking to his ethnicity. Which was ridiculous in the first place. Corporate statement, not from Mr Troy Townsend.

Hughton will be fine. He'll get plenty of decent offers, he's a good manager, decent man, who just lost his way. The whole accusation probably demeans HIM rather than just a football results-based decision. That's the irony.
